Herd Racing Foundation

The Herd Racing Foundation is the non-profit charitable arm of Herd Racing LLC and is responsible for coordinating the race team's non-racing activities and programs. The foundation is made up of the spouses of team members and other volunteer members who share a desire to promote positive messages of faith and family to the less fortunate in the race cities where our team competes.

The Herd Racing team makes it a point to spend a little time at each race event interacting with the local communities where the team races and attempts to provide encouragement and fun activities to a youth support organization in or near each race venue. Below are details of this year's planned visits and highlights of groups our team has visited with during past race seasons.

If you would like for the Herd Racing team to visit your organization you can call us at 877-736-7303 or email our Foundation President Jeff Webb at jeffwebb@herdracing.com.

The Herd Racing team uses mascot costumes, the team's racing boats, and games and activities led by team members to encourage at-risk youth during our outreach visits. All visits are offered free of charge.

In conjunction with the Marietta Riverfront Roar race weekend, Herd Racing will visit the Washington County Juvenile Center on July 13, 2012.  The center is a residential rehabilitation facility for youth between the ages of 12 and 18 committed by the juvenile judge. The center's mission is to provide a safe, structured environment where a delinquent youth receives professional help and support to address the problems causing the negative behaviors through a behavioral modification program. The center challenges the residents to modify their behaviors by changing the way they think.

The judge, recognizing the importance of involving the youth's family in the program, orders parents to participate in family counseling, team meetings, parent/teacher conferences, and parenting education classes conducted at the center.  Qualified and caring professionals individualize services for the youth and their family in order to facilitate a change in not only the youth's behavior but also the youth's home environment.
